This is a large Victorian carriage / stagecoach driving umbrella.
The umbrella has a large bamboo handle, furnished with a small silver collar and repousse silver top hallmarked for:
'Birmingham 1888'
With a makers mark:
'G.R'
Possibly for the Birmingham-based silversmith:
'George Randle'
The umbrella has a treen shaft with a solid metal inner frame holding a large black polyamid canopy which has been professionally recovered.
Finished with a black ferrule.
A rare item, perfect for use or a driving collector.
